Angelina Jolie is magnificent as Maleficent!

Once upon a time (1959 to be exact) there was a Disney villain so fabulous that all other villains hope to be here when they grow up. Behold Maleficent, self proclaimed Mistress of All Evil from Sleeping Beauty! This fierce bitch could turn into a dragon people. A dragon! Who cares about that sleepy blonde chick and those tiny old ladies she hangs around with? Snow White’s evil queen could only wrinkle herself up and make nasty apple pies and spent the rest of the movie being outsmarted by seven lil nuggets. Ursula the Sea Witch came pretty close to matching Maleficent’s flair for the dramatic but she couldn’t quite work the hat.

So, my pets, when Disney first announced that not only were they making a live action tribute to this bastion of ferocity and glamour but that Queen Diva herself Angelina Jolie would be donning that magnificent hat I was ALL IN. The word from Disney is that production began last week and now we have a glorious image of Mistress Angelina in all her hellacious glory to wet our appetites.

Yes please. I’ll be having more of this.

Maleficent is the untold story of Disney’s most beloved villain and the circumstances that led her to curse poor baby Aurora to a lifetime of slumber. Oscar-winning production designer Robert Stromberg (Avatar) is directing and Linda Wolverton (Beauty and the Beast) wrote the screenplay. The movie is scheduled to be released March 14, 2014.

Score hot Oscar inspired fashion from Rent-the-Runway

Want to rock some of the hottest trends from the 84th Annual Academy Awards without breaking the bank? Rent-the-Runway has beautiful gowns that are similar to looks worn by Angelina Jolie, Emma Stone, Cameron Diaz, and Meryl Streep that you can wear to your next special event for a fraction of the cost!

One of the most talked about dresses is In the Land of Blood and Honey director Angelina Jolie in a black Atelier Versace gown with a super sexy slit that went all the way up her thigh!  You can copy this look with the Versace Collection’s “Seductive Satin Gown” for $275 (retail $1,895) and it’s yours for four day.

Emma Stone’s Giambattista Valli haute couture gown was a delicious shade of red. Rent-the-Runway has the “All Eyes on You” dress from Carmen Marc Valvo available for $125 (retail $745) for four days. The color is really similar and personally, I prefer the breathtaking cut of the Valvo dress.

39-year-old Cameron Diaz looked classic in a Gucci gown in a cream color that can be replicated with Nicole Miller’s “Keyhole Goddess Gown“.  For four days it’s yours for $100 (Retail $630).

Oscar winner Meryl Streep had a golden night, snagging a golden statue and compliments on her Lanvin gown.  You can score a similar look with the Halston Heritage “Golden Draped Gown” for $75  (retail $475) for four days.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie cuddle up on the red carpet at the SAG Awards

A total gentleman, Brad Pitt held the vehicle door open for his love Angelina Jolie upon their arrival to the 18th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards held at The Shrine Auditorium this evening. As much as I love watching for Angie on the red carpet, I always hope she wears something other than black.

Yes she looked stunning in Jenny Packham, but I just prefer her in brighter colors. (Remember how beautiful she looked in the ivory and red Atelier Versace gown at the Golden Globes?)

But I digress….

The power couple posed for pictures with best buddy George Clooney and his latest flame, Stacy Keibler (who wore a lace, black Marchesa gown).

Brad and George are competing in the “Outstanding Performance By A Male Actor In A Leading Role” category this evening. Good luck boys!

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie pose pretty at the Golden Globes

Angelina Jolie must have heard how brilliant she looks when she rocks a bit of color because she looked fantastic at the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards. Joining Angie on the red carpet is longtime partner Brad Pitt at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday, January 15th, 2012 in Beverly Hills, California.

Brad is nominated for the “Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama” for his portrayal of Billy Beane in the film, Moneyball. He does have some serious competition including friend George Clooney, Leonardo DiCaprio, RYan Gosling, and Michel Fassbender.

Angie scored a nomination for her directorial debut In The Land of Blood and Honey under the category, “Best Foreign Language Film.”

Angelina Jolie steps out in New York amidst lawsuit announcement

Looking breathtaking in a chocolate colored silk dress, Angelina Jolie was photographed leaving the Mandarin Hotel in New York, New York on December 5, 2011. She is currently making the rounds to promote her new film and directorial debut, In the Land of Blood and Honey.

The Salt and Kung Fu Panda star looked happy as she made her way past mobs of photographers and fans as if she had no worries in the world though a Croatian journalist filed a lawsuit against Jolie and the producers of the film for copyright infringement on December 2nd.

James J. Braddock claims the movie ripped off his 2007 book, The Soul Shattering. Jolie has yet to release a statement.

Angelina Jolie gives a friendly wave in London

Angelina Jolie gave a quick wave to photographers as she was leaving a studio in London, England on Wednesday, September 21st, 2011. The 36-year-old actress kept it super chic in all black ensemble paired with classic aviators.

While her partner Brad Pitt is currently promoting his baseball flick, Moneyball in the states, his latest idea is focused on the couple making more films together.  The two have enacted a policy of only one of them working at a time so the other can focus on their six children, but Brad wants to work together so they can spend more time as a family, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Pitt said that the success of Mr. and Mrs. Smith was due to how well he and Jolie worked together.

“We had some good workshops beforehand. Had some good laughs and ideas. That was just a great collaboration that turned into a greater collaboration.”

Hmmm…couldn’t Brad and Angelina just retire right now and live beyond comfortable for the rest of their lives?

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt take the kiddies to the movies

I cannot believe how BIG Knox and Vivienne are!! I got so used to seeing them being carried around like babies that now that they are walking, it’s just unbelievable!!

Busy parents Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt took their kiddies to watch the Smurfs on the big screen at the Odeon Cinema in Richmond, London, UK on Sunday, September 4th, 2011. The group included 6-year-old Zahara, 5-year-old Shiloh, twins Knox Léon and Vivienne Marcheline– 3-years-old, and an extremely shy Pax, who shielded his face from the prying lenses.

The Jolie-Pitt’s have been spending a lot of time in Europe while Brad shoots the zombie film, World War X.
