Bromance Alert: Colin Firth and George Clooney hug it out

There is nothing more I love than starting bromance rumors, especially when it pertains to two actors I adore! The latest round of gossip come by the way of Colin Firth and George Clooney who were spotted holding hands and hugging it out on the red carpet at the 2012 Orange British Academy Film Awards at The Royal Opera House on Sunday, February 12th, 2012 in London, England.

While Stacy Keibler was nowhere in sight, our beloved Colin did have his supportive wife Livia by his side. The Italian beauty, who wore a Paul Smith tux made from ethical and organic New Zealand wool and silk, convinced her hubby and fellow actor Michael Fassbender to dress eco-friendly this evening.

Both men wore tuxedos made by Giorgio Armani from organic wool, with accents in recycled plastic bottles as part of the Green Carpet Challenge.

Livia founded the challenge to raise the profile of sustainable style at red carpet events. It’s great that you can dress fabulous and do something good for the Earth at the same time!

You go girl!

Colin Firth and Clive Owen represent the Brit’s at the Golden Globes

Even though neither were nominated for awards this year, it was fantastic to see two of my favorite British men Colin Firth and Clive Owen on the red carpet! Mr. Firth was accompanied by his beautiful wife Livia Giuggioli-Firth at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday, January 15th, 2012 in Beverly Hills, California.

The Pride and Prejudice and The King’s Speech actor served as presenter for the “Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama” category which went to Meryl Streep for her portrayal of Margaret Thatcher in Iron Lady.

I hope to see both Colin and Clive nominated for many awards next year!

Colin Firth and Helen Mirren premiere ‘The Debt’ in London

The red carpet was on fire at The Curzon Mayfair for the UK premiere of The Debt on Wednesday, September 21st, 2011 in London, England. The films’ stars were on-hand for the celebration including Dame Helen Mirren, Tom Wilkinson, and Jessica Chastain.

Also in attendance was Colin Firth who was accompanied by his beautiful wife Livia Giuggioli.

The espionage thriller begins in 1997, as shocking news reaches retired Mossad secret agents Rachel (Mirren) and Stefan (Wilkinson) about their former colleague David (Ciarán Hinds). All three have been venerated for decades by their country because of the mission that they undertook back in 1966, when the trio (portrayed, respectively, by Chastain, Marton Csokas, and Sam Worthington) tracked down Nazi war criminal Vogel (Jesper Christensen) in East Berlin. At great risk, and at considerable personal cost, the team’s mission was accomplished – or was it?

The Debt is currently showing in US theaters.

Colin Firth and wife Livia rock the red carpet in Venice

After a day full of promotion, Colin Firth and his stunning wife Livia walked the red carpet the for Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy premiere during the 68th Venice International Film Festival at the Palazzo del Cinema on Monday, September 5th, 2011 in Venice, Italy. Joining the Firth’s were his co-stars Gary Oldman and wife Alexandra Edenborough, John Hurt who was accompanied by his wife Ann Rees Meyers, Mark Strong and his wife Liza Marshall, and Benedict Cumberbatch.

Set in the 1970s, Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy finds George Smiley (Oldman), a recently retired MI6 agent, doing his best to adjust to a life outside the secret service. However, when a disgraced agent reappears with information concerning a mole at the heart of the Circus, Smiley is drawn back into the murky field of espionage.

Tasked with investigating which of his trusted former colleagues has chosen to betray him and their country, Smiley narrows his search to four suspects – all experienced, urbane, successful agents – but past histories, rivalries and friendships make it far from easy to pinpoint the man who is eating away at the heart of the British establishment.

Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy is set for a US release on December 9th, 2011.

Colin Firth honored by Queen Elizabeth II

Ever since watching Colin Firth in Pride and Prejudice in 1995 I knew he was something special. As a long time fan of the British actor, I was very excited to hear that Queen Elizabeth II has honored Mr. Firth with a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for his services to acting.

This puts him well on his way to receiving a knighthood one day!

It is said that the monarch was extremely touched by Colin’s portrayal of her father King George VI in the film The King’s Speech which also earned him multiple awards including an Academy Award and a BAFTA.

Congratulations to Colin for the much deserved accolade!

Colin Firth suits up for MET Gala

We’ve not seen very much of Colin Firth since winning accolade after accolade for his role in The King’s Speech earlier this year, so it’s so nice to see him back in the spotlight! Firth walked the red carpet at the”Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty” Costume Institute Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art on Tuesday, May 2nd, 2011 in New York City.

By his side was his beautiful wife Livia Giuggoli-Firth who donned a floor length silver gown which she accented with green jewel toned heels and matching earrings.

Up next for the Colin, who looked simply irresistible in his tux and bow tie, is the thriller Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. The film takes place in the hopeless days of the Cold War where espionage veteran George Smiley (Gary Oldman) is forced from semi-retirement to uncover a Soviet agent within MI6′s echelons.

Look out for that on September 15th.
