Glee Creator Scares up an American Horror Story

Glee creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk are teaming up with Nip/Tuck’s executive producers on the new show American Horror Story which is set to premiere on FX on October 5th. The name alone was enough to lure me in because as you know I love a good scary story, especially a haunted house story and this promises just that. The plot involves a young family who move from Boston to Los Angeles to try to work through a tragedy. Upon arrival they find out that the house is not quite what they expected. Mayhem ensues.

American Horror Story stars Dylan McDermott (The Practice), Connie Britton (Friday Night Lights), Frances Conroy (Six Feet Under, Happy Town) and Jessica Lange (Grey Gardens, King Kong, Tootsie) in her first regular television role. Ryan Murphy calls AHS a “psychosexual thriller” and Falchuk says it was his love of 70s horror films that fueled the project. Early buzz calls it “the scariest show on television…ever” but we’ve heard that before. Claims like that usually make my eyebrows twitch a little and my defenses go up. Scariest? Really? Then show me. Don’t tell me. I want to be afraid to go to bed at night. Then we’ll talk.

As the premiere date grows near FX is building up the tension with a series of teasers that give us clues to what the show will be like. Check em out below.

Creepy huh? Love that version of “Tainted Love”. I have high hopes for this one. Let’s just hope they don’t get any bright ideas about a AHS/Glee crossover where Rachel sings a song about the Devil while the walls of the choir room bleed. Wait, that might be cool.
