The soothing voice of reason on Desperate Housewives, played by Brenda Strong, has just landed the role of the new Mrs. Bobby Ewing on TNT’s hotly anticipated (by me anyway) reboot of Dallas. I don’t know if this means that she will no longer lend her calming voice to narrate the misadventures on Wisteria Lane, but it will be nice to see her on screen again instead of just a whisper on the wind passing judgement on her old friends.

TNT’s reboot of Dallas has added two more names to the cast. Desperate Housewives alum Jesse Metcalfe landed the role of Pam and Bobby Ewing’s adopted son Christopher who will be feuding with his cousin John Ross (son of J.R.) over the future of Ewing Oil and probably a woman or two. The cast of the anxiously anticipated (by me at least) reboot of the hugely popular 80s drama Dallas on TNT is filling up fast. Last week Larry Hagman confirmed that he had a verbal agreement to return as JR Ewing and was waiting to sign the contracts. Now more of the original cast is confirmed and some new faces will be roaming the halls of Southfork Ranch.

Good news for fans of bourbon, oil and big Cadillacs. Larry Hagman is officially on board to reprise his role of J.R. Ewing in TNT’s reboot of Dallas. This is welcome news given that the last we heard Hagman was holding out for more money and the creators were ready to move ahead without him.

Big news for Desperate Housewives fans! Larry Hagman has signed on to appear on the ABC hit later this season. He won’t be appearing as his most famous character JR Ewing though. Sad I know. How great would that be!? Instead he will play the love interest of Lynette’s mother Stella (Polly Bergen).
