It has been a fun few days hanging out on the set of the big screen version of Rock of Ages! We could have gotten a regular ol’ movie shooting here which would have been great all the same but having this eclectic piece has been extremely enjoyable.

These images show Julianne Hough and Diego Boneta on location in Hollywood, Florida on Tuesday, May 24th, 2011 outside some local stores and restaurants. Being on set for those shots was extremely fun because while we were standing on a median shooting pictures there was a variety of 80′s vehicles driving around while “Here I Go Again” by Whitesnake was playing in the background. The lead on the song was a female voice though so it might have been one of the songs recorded by Hough weeks ago while they were working in studio.

The next two days they will be shooting at the garbage mountain where they have put a Hollywood Sign to replicate the famous one in California. I doubt pictures will emerge from that set as it will be very stinky!

Even though the weather looked like it wasn’t going to cooperate, members of the cast of Rock of Ages were up bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning to begin day one of shooting. Both Diego Boneta and Julianne Hough were seen dressed in their 80′s themed costumes while rollerskating through the Hollywood Beach boardwalk in Hollywood, Florida on Monday, May 23rd, 2011.

The duo smooched and skated through a crowd of extras all dressed in the crazy colors and big hair reminiscent of the era. As you can tell by the photos, this is gearing up to be one fun feature!

Everything was under careful watch of director Adam Shankman whom I got to see during lunch break with his two doggies. Speaking of lunch, I was able to snap some pictures of the adorable hunk Diego while he was at the grill picking out his meal. From where I was standing it looked like he grabbed some chicken.

He dined under the main dining tent along with members of the cast and crew while Hough opted to dine in her trailer.

Hopefully tomorrow members of the crew will stop trying to cover up the stars with their crazy huge umbrellas so we could get some amazing footage to share!

Stay tuned, I plan to head over to the set again tomorrow. I’m really hoping to catch a glimpse of other cast members especially Russell Brand and Tom Cruise soon.
