Flight of the Conchords star Jemaine Clement is a shy guy

While I’m happy to see new images of Jemaine Clement, I feel kind of bad about what went down. According to the photographic caption, Jemaine was snapped while walking along and he was none to happy over the attention. At some point, it seems like he throws water at the photog so as to get him to stop taking pictures of him.

Now the agency [Read more...]

Jemaine Clement is an Independent Spirit

Now this is a sight for sore eyes! One half of my favorite comedic duo, Jemaine Clement, came out for the 25th Film Independent’s Spirit Awards held at Nokia Event Deck at L.A. Live on March 5, 2010 in Los Angeles, California. Also spotted at the party was British comedian Eddie Izzard! I’d pay good money to be photographed between them!

It was a big week for Flight of the Conchord fans. Jemaine’s latest film, Gentleman Broncos was release on DVD on Tuesday AND the boys announced they will be treating their European fans to a spring tour.

It’s Official: No Season 3 for Flight of the Conchords

It’s a sad day for all Flight of the Conchords fans. The boys have announced, via their official website, that they will not return to HBO for another season of their hit television show.

Bret, Jemaine and James (co-creator/director) said “we’ve noticed the less we say about the future of the show, the more people want to talk about it, so in an effort to reverse this trend we are today announcing that we won’t be returning for a 3rd season. We’re very proud of the two seasons we made and we like the way the show ended. We’d like to thank everyone who helped make the show and also everyone who watched it. While the characters Bret and Jemaine will no longer be around, the real Bret and Jemaine will continue to exist.

Since the end of season 2 of my favorite comedy Flight of the Conchords, I feared they would not return for a third season. Today, Jemaine Clement, one half of New Zealand’s fourth most popular guitar-based digi-bongo acapella-rap-funk-comedy folk duo, confirmed they are considering not coming back.

Clement told Reuters that he needs to discuss the future of the show with his co-star, Bret McKenzie, and with the director of the series, James Bobin.

“It very likely might not” return for a third season, Clement said.

“It could come back in a shorter season or like a special,” he added.

Flight of the Conchords announce UK gigs!

At long last my UK friends can stop hatin’ on me!! Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement are announcing they are bringing their live tour to the United Kingdom!

As I first announced to you my fellow Conchord fanatics straight from Bret’s gorgeous lips, the boys are planning on taking their comedy tour to our neighbors across the pond.

Though they are not confirming dates yet they hope to start in early 2010.

Jemaine Clement stars in Gentlemen Broncos

Flight of the Conchords star and 50% of New Zealand’s former fourth most popular guitar-based digi-bongo acapella-rap-funk-comedy folk duo Jemaine Clement, stars in the upcoming movie comedy Gentlemen Broncos.

Gentlemen Broncos tells the story of a home schooled teenage outcast (Michael Angarano) an aspiring fantasy writer. He attends a fantasy convention to show off his work and finds his idea, ‘Yeast Lords’, becomes ripped off by acclaimed novelist Ronald Chevalier (Jemaine Clement), who has turned desperate for ideas.

Broncos also stars Jennifer Coolidge, Mike White and Sam Rockwell.

Possible Season 3 for the Conchords?

Tonight I wish to offer fellow Flight of the Conchords fans a glimmer of hope.

I was just reading this article announcing Jemaine Clement would be lending his voice to a new animated film entitled Despicable Me alongside Steve Carell, Julie Andrews and Russell Brand, when I noticed a small sentence that caught my attention.

Bret Mckenzie’s mom, Deidre Tarrant revealed that our boys may postpone their plans to quit the hit HBO show on the heels of all their recent Emmy Nominations!!

Tarrant told Sunday News: “I think they will go on.

“Would you stop this while it is still on this sort sort of a roll?

“We want them to be there. They are really excited about the nominations.”

Would a Conchords mom give all of us fans false hope? I doubt it.

She also said the boys would “emerge soon.” HBO is releasing their second season on DVD on August 4th so that may be a good time for them to come out of hiding. Jemaine’s been enjoying his time off in Greece while Bret has been hanging out in Wellington.

“They want a break away and (get some) new ideas,” she said.

“They have both got other projects in the pipeline.

“They just want some real downtime.”

So possible Season 3 just not anytime soon? I could live with that.
