Colin Firth and Gary Oldman step out at the Venice Film Festival

Two of my favorite British stars, Colin Firth and Gary Oldman attended the Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy Photocall during the 68th Venice International Film Festival held at the Palazzo del Casino on Monday, September 5th, 2011 in Venice, Italy.

They were joined by producers Tim Bevan, Robyn Slovo, filmmaker Tomas Alfredson and actors John Hurt, Svetlana Khodchenkova, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Mark Strong.

The thriller takes place in the bleak days of the Cold War, espionage veteran George Smiley (Oldman) is forced from semi-retirement to uncover a Soviet agent within MI6′s echelons.

Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy is set for a US release on December 9th, 2011.

Colin Firth and Keira Knightley win big at Empire Awards

Britain’s top talent were honored at The Jameson Empire Awards 2011 at The Grosvenor House Hotel on Sunday, March 27th, 2011 in London, England. Honorees included Colin Firth who took home the Jameson Best Actor for The King’s Speech, Keira Knightley who won the Empire Hero Award (and it was given to her by her Atonement co-star James McAvoy!), and Gary Oldman who scored the Empire Icon Award.

Gary Oldman shoots with horny “Red Riding Hood”

Must be tough for veteran actor Gary Oldman to shoot with such a horny young actress. Of course when we say “horny” we are referring to the pair of horns Amanda Seyfried’s wearing as party of her costume for the new film, Red Riding Hood. (dirty minded lot aren’t you?!)

Lots of behind the scenes pictures from Red Riding Hood, filming in Vancouver, BC. The costumes look like lots of fun, especially that elaborate purple number on Gary Oldman.

Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke seems to have a knack for the fantasy genre. In this film, her first since Twilight, she’s directing an ensemble cast which includes: Amanda Seyfield, Gary Oldman, Michael Shanks, Lukas Haas, Virginia Madsen, Julie Christie and even one of her Twilight comrades, Billy Burke.

Jim Carrey and Gary Oldman celebrate the Fourth with the fam

Proud new grandfather Jim Carrey spent the Fourth of July with his nearest and dearest. The forty eight year old may have been born in Canada but has been an American staple for so many years that its only appropriate that he celebrate the Fourth with a party at his Malibu, California home!

Along for the festivities were fellow actor Gary Oldman, Jim’s daughter Jane Carrey and her precious four and a half month old son Jackson Riley Santana.

Gary Oldman takes the family out for lunch

Gary Oldman is quite the family man! The Dark Knight actor was joined by his mother Kathleen Oldman, wife Alexandra Edenborough and two sons Alfred and Charlie John for a bit of food at Joan’s on Third in West Hollywood on Friday, April 2nd.

Gary scolded his young boys for letting their grandmother carry a shopping bag.

The British actor is currently shooting the crime/thriller Criminal Empire for Dummies. I’m so excited for this film because not only is Gary in this but my beloved Milo Ventimiglia is also starring in this!
