Jimmy Jean-Louis to be honored at Cannes

Jimmy Jean-Louis is a lot more than an actor, he is a humanitarian. The Haitian born star who made his way into our homes and our hearts as the mysterious character on the NBC show Heroes, is going to be honored during the Cannes Film Festival.

From tv hero to real life hero!

He is set to receive the Humanitarian award during the International Luxury Media’s 3rd annual Better World Awards’ Glitter and Glam Ball from fellow actor/humanitarian Sean Penn. The invitation-only, black-tie gala, cocktail reception and dinner is to take place at The Lotus VIP Club on Le Goeland Beach during France’s Cannes Film Festival on May 19th.

Gerard Butler teams up with Artists for Peace and Justice in Haiti

Some of Hollywood’s biggest names teamed up with the organization Artists for Peace and Justice (APJ) to visit Port-Au-Prince, Haiti on Sunday, April 11th. The includes director and APJ founder Paul Haggis, Gerard Butler, Susan Sarandon, Demi Moore, Olivia Wilde, and Ben Stiller.

Stiller recently announced the merger between his Haitian school initiative with APJ to maximize his efforts in the impoverished island nation.

Artists for Peace and Justice encourages peace and social justice and addresses issues of poverty and enfranchisement in communities around the world. The organizations immediate goal is to build schools to serve the poorest areas of Haiti, [Read more...]

With Haiti’s hurricane season approaching, Eva Longoria Parker is urging the public to not forget the devastated nation. The Desperate Housewives star is working with A Home for Haiti, a charity that exists to empower regular people to make a tangible, material difference in Haiti.
