REVIEW: Glee “The Substitute”

The problem with having A-list guest stars on a show like Glee is that you end up liking them and hoping they’ll abandon their 20 million dollar movie deals to satisfy my episodic television whims. I adore Gwyneth Paltrow’s selfish and commitment phobic Holly Holiday but sadly I doubt we’ll ever see her again.

REVIEW: Chris Colfer has “Never Been Kissed”

Glee reminded us tonight why it is such a phenomenon. In the first of the trilogy of episodes that deals with homophobia and bullying Ryan Murphy delivered an emotional and stunning hour of television where Chris Colfer showed us again what a talented and amazing young man he is. For gay boys like me some of it hit a little close to home, but it was supposed to. I remember what the taunting was like, and I came out the other side of it. But, it does get better, and Kurt is beginning to see the light with the help of cutie patootie Blaine (Darren Criss).

REVIEW: Glee “Duets”

It was another week sadly devoid of shirtless Mark Salling but Glee got happy anyway and introduced the phrase “vocal masturbation” into the lexicon. The theme this week was duets and we were treated to some unique interpretations of some classic tunes serving as the backdrop for a few romantic entanglements and questionable wardrobe choices by Tina.

Mr. Shu kicked the night off with a WTF moment. He announced that [Read more...]

REVIEW: “Glee” Grilled Cheesus?

Any worries that I had about season two of Glee being light on plot and heavy on flashy artist tributes are now officially laid to rest. Glee had a come-to-Jesus episode tonight that set everything right in the world.

To kick things off, Finn saw the face of Jesus in his grilled cheese sandwich and had a religious epiphany. He dubbed the dairy deity “Grilled Cheesus” and proclaimed Him super delicious. Then he immediately fell to his knees in prayer, asking Grilled Cheesus for the opportunity to fondle Rachel’s awesome perky bosoms.

The next day Finn suggests that the Glee club put aside the [Read more...]
