Celebrities come out for Only Make Believe Foundation Gala

Some of the biggest stars were out for a very special cause last night.

Sir Ian McKellen, Jude Law, Johnny Lee Miller and Chris Meloni were among the stars who attended the 10th Anniversary celebration of Only Make Believe at the Shubert Theatre in New York City. Sir Ian took up hosting duties at the soiree that honored Chris Wearing, Seth Rudetsky, and Bernadette Longford.

Only Make Believe is a non-profit organization that creates and performs interactive theatre for children in hospitals and care facilities. They are dedicated to the principle that freeing a child’s imagination is a valuable part of the healing process.

Sir Ian McKellen made his arrival at the Maria Cristina Hotel during the 57th San Sebastian International Film Festival in San Sebastian, Spain yesterday. The beloved actor will receive the Film Festival’s Donostia Prize awarded for a life’s career in cinema.

“His tremendous versatility has led him to play enormously varying parts, from the Shakespeare classics to contemporary superheroes, from author cinema to major commercial productions,” organizers said.

The British born actor is known for his roles as Magneto in the X-Men series and Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings.
