With the cancellation of United States of Tara still weighing heavy on my heart, it was great to find out that John Corbett will be returning to NBC’s Parenthood next season. TVLine.com reports exclusively that the fifty year old hunk, who plays Sarah’s (Lauren Graham) recovering alcoholic ex Seth Holt is coming back for a multi-episode arc.
Also making a comeback is Jason Ritter, who stars as Sarah’s on-again, off-again boyfriend Mark, creating a nice little triangle for her.
“Just when everything seems to be going well between Sarah and Mark, Seth shows up and he’s kind of in a darker place than he’s been,” Executive Producer Jason Katims explains. “And so you see Sarah really having to struggle with wanting to help him and be there for him, but also at the same time [be fully present] in this relationship with Mark that’s really good and healthy.”
Poor Corbett can’t ever play a character that finds love and lives happily ever after! If I STILL sound bitter about the demise of Carrie and Aiden on Sex and the City you would be right. How could the series end with her and Mr. Big, who totally treated her like crap?
Aiden would have NEVER left her alone at the altar!!
But I digress….
Parenthood returns to NBC on Tuesday, September 13 at 10 pm.
