Star Trek premieres in Australia!

I would pay good money to be at this red carpet event with this group of hotties!  The boys stepped out at the at the Sydney Opera House in Sydney, Australia to premiere the much hyped, Star Trek movie today. This will be the 11th feature film stemming from Gene Roddenberry’s fictional universe.

In attendance were Zachary Quinto, JJ Abrams, Chris Pine, Karl Urban, Eric Bana and John Cho.

Star Trek fans in Texas were surprised yesterday upon arriving for what they thought was a screening of 1982′s The Wrath of Khan. Leonard Nemoy was instead holding a canister with the new Star Trek movie for the crowd to watch before anyone else.

Chris Pine admits he wasn’t sure how he would approach the role of Captain Kirk made famous by Willam Shatner.

“All it was doing was making me think about what’s the best way I could do a William Shatner impersonation,” Pine said. “It wasn’t helping bringing this story to life.”

John Cho who plays Crewman Hikaru Sulu finds that this new film reflects our current time.

“This film is about many cultures and nations coming together in a peaceful mission and I think it reflects the times and is something we need,” said John Cho

Where was Simon Pegg for all this?

infphoto_944803OOoOOoOOh it’s Zachary Quinto!

All the hotties from the new Star Trek movie were spotted at Los Angeles International Airport yesterday.  Zachary Quino, Chris Pine, J.J. Abrams, and Karl Urban are heading for Australia where the film will premiere at the Sydney Opera House. Eric Bana who is already in Australia will be joining the boys for the tour.

How lucky are the folks in Oz?  Last year they got Iron Man before everyone else, and this year Paramount is showing them some love and premiering Star Trek a full month before everyone else!
The Sydney premiere kicks off a world tour that touches down in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Japan, Korea, Netherlands, New Zealand, Russia, Spain and the UK.

Star Trek opens in the U.S. on May 8th.
