Mark Strong loves being a villain!

Mark Strong @ the Jameson Empire Film Awards at The Grosvenor House Hotel on March 28, 2010 in London, England.

While some fans worry Mark Strong will be typecast as a bad guy, the actor admits he loves playing villains! Strong is playing the bad guy role of Frank D’Amico in the upcoming Brad Pitt produced film Kick-Ass and just starred as Lord Geoffrey Blackwood in Guy Richie’s Sherlock Holmes movie.

So what is it that attracts Strong to these roles?

“They’re my favourite – they’re dark, interesting and multi-layered so I’m happy to play them,” he said.

He is set to play more bad boy roles in his next two films. He will star as Sir Godfrey in Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood and as the villain Sinestro in the upcoming Martin Campbell directed movie Green Lantern.

Brad Pitt attended the UK Film Premiere of Kick-Ass at the Empire Leicester Square on March 22, 2010 in London, England. I had no idea Mr. Angelina Jolie produced this flick!

Also in attendance were the films director Matthew Vaughn and his pregnant wife Claudia Schiffer, screenwriter Jane Goldman and her fabulous hubby Jonathan Ross, and its stars Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Chloe Moretz. Other stars who made an appearance were Jessica Lowndes, and Jamie Oliver with his preggo wife Jools Oliver.

KICK-ASS tells the story of average teenager Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), a comic-book fanboy who decides to take his obsession as inspiration to become a real-life superhero. As any good superhero would, he chooses a new name — Kick-Ass — assembles a suit and mask to wear, and gets to work fighting crime. There’s only one problem standing in his way: Kick-Ass has absolutely no superpowers.
