Lala Anthony launches new make-up line in Miami

Latina beauty Lala Anthony stepped onto the stage at Market America’s World Conference in Miami in front of 20,000 people to launch her beauty line, Motives for LaLa yesterday. With famous friends Kim Kardashian, Larsa and Scottie Pippen, Angie Martinez and Fat Joe all sitting front row, Lala spoke alongside Internet mogul Loren Ridinger, SVP of Market America/ Shop.com about the new collection.

Having my name on a cosmetics line has always been a dream, one I’m excited to share. Every girl always tries to find that perfect color or shade that suits their personality, and now she can do it easily and affordably.” -LaLa Anthony

I so can relate to what she is saying, 110%. Growing up, I went through phases of when my make-up was so many shades of ivory because there wasn’t much availability of products catered to women like me who are darker complected.

La La Anthony partners with Loren Ridinger for debut cosmetics line

Big news for us brown girls who have trouble finding the ride shade of make-up! La La Anthony, known for her VH-1 reality show La La’s Full Court Life, has teamed up with longtime friend Loren Ridinger, senior vice president of Market America/SHOP.com and creator of the award-winning Motives® by Loren Ridinger® cosmetics line, to create Motives® for La La, a line of makeup uniquely-formulated for every shade of today’s modern woman.

According to the press release,”Motives for La La includes mineral base lipsticks, blushes, lip shines and more, and will be formally introduced next month at Market America’s 2012 World Conference at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, FL.”

I remember my younger years when I tried to find models whose complexion resembled mine and it was impossible. So you can imagine what it was like to hit the stores trying to find make-up that came closest to matching my skin tone but still coming up short….many times.

But with products like Motives for La La, women won’t ever go through that ever again!

“Having my name on a cosmetics line has always been a dream, one I’m excited to share,” La La said. “Every girl always tries to find that perfect color or shade that suits their personality, and now she can do it easily and affordably.”

Gabrielle Union and La La Vazquez enjoyed an ‘Evening in Vogue’

What better way to wrap up Art Basel than a breathtaking runway event featuring Missoni’s Spring 2012 collection?! After a pretty hectic week, I had the pleasure to attend the ‘Evenings in Vogue’ event hosted by Loren Ridinger and Jeffrey Kalinsky on Saturday, December 3rd, 2011 at the breathtaking Ridinger Estate, Casa de Sueños in Miami Beach, Florida.

Stars in attendance included Gabrielle Union (sans boyfriend Dwayne Wade), La La Vazquez (in Missoni), Nicki and Paris Hilton, Burn Notice and The Tudors star Gabrielle Anwar, Miami Heat power forward Chris Bosh, Housewives of Miami star Lea Black, and the always beautiful Katrina Campins (in a Nicole Miller gown).

Speaking of Katrina who enjoyed a successful stint on The Apprentice and Miami Social, confessed she has some amazing things coming up so stay tuned for the details!

I had the pleasure to sit directly behind Vittorio Missoni who told me that the inspiration for the line came from watching flamencos. Indeed the delicious hues of blues and yellows on the fringed and ruffled pieces were evocative of a sensual night of dancing in Spain.

The property set the scene beautifully for an event that hosted over 600 people, and the weather couldn’t have been any better. Not to mention how amazingly humble and down-to-Earth both Vittorio and Angela Missoni were!

My only complaint? I somehow missed out on getting the fabulous gift bag! :(

Favorite Thing Friday: Motives Pressed Bronzer

As a tan skinned Latina, I have lived my life with a few misconceptions. The biggest one would have to be that darker skinned people do not need to wear sunblock. I was never the type of person to sit out and bake in the sunlight so I figured I was safe from harmful rays.

I learned a few years ago that NO ONE is safe from the sun.

On a less serious note, I have always been a fan of blush and I really enjoyed using different brushes and applying using varied angles of my face to create different looks. For along time, I didn’t realize that bronzer works much in the same way. But back then, I assumed it was for fair skin girls seeking a more sunkissed look.

Guess who was wrong again?

I tried and quickly fell in love with Motives by Loren Ridinger’s bronzer in Miami Glow. Bronzer works in just the same way as blush as it highlighst the beautiful features of your face. Eva Longoria shops on South Beach

While taking a break from water sports with boyfriend Eduardo Cruz, Eva Longoria was spotted trying on outfits during a shopping trip to South Beach on Thursday, May 12th, 2011. The Desperate Housewives star stopped at stores including Intermix and Zara with one of her best friends, Loren Ridinger.

You can see the duo caused quite a stir amongst fans who gathered outside the store to catch a glimpse! Bodyguards had to assist the ladies get back into their car after all the commotion!

Eva Longoria and Loren Ridinger rock the red carpet for charity

To wrap up what has been a whirlwind week for me, I attended the Rally for Kids with Cancer Scavenger Cup – The Winners Circle Gala Dinner held at the Eden Roc last night. The event brought together the who’s who of Hollywood and Miami A-Listers who teamed up to raise much needed funds for children’s cancer research, care and treatment.
