How can you go wrong with a movie that stars legendary film stars Judi Dench, Tom Wilkinson, Maggie Smith, Bill Nighy, Ronald Pickup, Celia Imrie, and Penelope Wilton? Based on the 2004 novel These Foolish Things, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel was a wonderful adventure into the lives of six British retirees who, for different reasons, end up taking residence in a hotel in India.
Not all are happy to be in this foreign land, but their future heavily depends on the relationships they create during this trip. The dilapidated hotel is managed by Sonny Kapoor (Dev Patel) who was promoting the establishment as being “newly renovated” though it was practically falling apart at the seams!
It’s a story about love, loss, friendship, and how it’s never too late to start again.
