I’ll be honest. I didn’t have a lot of hope for this week’s episode of Desperate Housewives. Based on the trajectory of the last few weeks and the promo that showed Susan collapsing yet again I had decided that perhaps this season was lost. I am happy to say that I was proven wrong. “Farewell Letter” didn’t blow me away, but it reminded me why I love this show and have watched religiously for seven years.
I know most of you were transfixed by incubating pop stars, Muppets and The Power of Bieber on Sunday night but in case you weren’t there was a new episode of Desperate Housewives to help you forget about John Mayer murdering a Dolly Parton song. I chose to watch the Grammys so I’m just now getting around to catching up with my ladies. Turns out this one had not one but two big guest stars. Hit the cut to see how they did.

A dim glow of hope is beginning to shine in the dark recesses of suckage that has been Desperate Housewives for the past few episodes. Last night’s chapter in this tale of horror was a teeny bit better than last week but still made me cringe and cry for all the wrong reasons. It also had a moment or two of brilliance.
