I’m getting so excited about the MTV Video Music Awards! MTV has just released the first promo featuring their fabulous returning host Russell Brand and pop princess Britney Spears.
To be honest, I love it because Brand is it in but it is kinda cheesy!

For all of you out there who dislike Russell Brand, take that! MTV is bringing mega babe Brand to host the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards!! Though I don’t feel his hosting abilities were up to par with his true comedic talent I know this year he will be ready to show the world how truly fabulous he is.
“This year will be a controversy-free festival of love and discrete orgasms,” said the “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” star, who stirred plenty of controversy as host last year when he joked about the Jonas Brothers’ purity rings.
You can also expect performances by Taylor Swift and British rock trio Muse making their American TV debut. Expect more announcements in the coming weeks.
The 2009 Video Music Awards will air live on September 13th at 9 pm.
Russell Brand was spotted on location in Venice, California filming scenes from his new comedy Get Him to the Greek earlier this week.
The comedian who hosted the MTV Video Music Awards last year offered some advice to Andy Sandberg who will be hosting the MTV Movie Awards this weekend.
“Do not criticize George W Bush,” the British comic told MTV News, adding: “You will receive death threats.
“Do not jokingly criticize the Jonas Brothers – you will receive less-threatening death threats.”
“There’s nothing worse than opening a letter and then seeing in it a death threat,” he said.
“You think, ‘Hold on a minute. I wasn’t looking forward to the letter particularly. Now I fear death. Ruins a perfectly good read’.”
I know Andy Sandberg has a lot of fans out there but I am not to be included on that list. I don’t really find him that funny!?
The MTV Movie Awards airs Sunday at 9 p.m.
