The recession is not just hitting us regular folks, celebrities are not safe either! Firt television icon Ed McMahon and now the King of Pop, Michael Jackson is succumbing to the economic crisis.
Growing up loving Michael Jackson it’s tough to see so many of these mega-famous items head for the auction block. But if it wasn’t for all that legal drama maybe he would not be having these troubles.
Jacko will be auctioning off over 2,000 items in April including the gates to Neverland Ranch, the sequinned jacket he wore for the 1984 Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony, a set of his signature Swarovski crystal gloves (including the iconic white glove from his Billie Jean video) and the famous gloves Johnny Depp wore for the movie Edward Scissorhands! (Who want’s to buy me those?)
Julien Auctions will be auctioning off this random collection of items from April 22 to 25 in Beverly Hills.
Darren Julien, president of Julien’s Auctions said, “Michael Jackson was a collector of everything. We’ve never seen a collection that is as extensive and eccentric as his.”
A 1999 Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph limo with an interior the star adorned with a 24-karat gold interior could bring in $140,000 to $160,000.The glittery white glove Jackson wore for his stage performance of “Billie Jean” is estimated to fetch $10,000 to $15,000, and a special-effects robotic Michael Jackson head made for the 1988 film “Moonwalker” could fetch between $2,000 to $3000.
The auction could bring an estimated $1.5 million to $3 million.
