Paula Patton had all eyes on her at the 43rd NAACP Image Awards held at The Shrine Auditorium on February 17, 2012 in Los Angeles, California. Looking stunning in a sequined Monique Lhuillier, Paula Patton was a hit not just for her clothing but also her flawless face!
Celebrity make-up artist Fiona Stiles worked her magic on the COVERGIRL Queen Collection Brand Ambassador with some of the hottest products on the market.
We got the breakdown for you from Fiona so you can recreate her look at home!
Inspiration:
Paula was wearing a red, tight, strapless beaded dress that was really beautiful and elegant. We decided to go for a sultry look and play up the eyes, while keeping the skin radiant. Paula had a few tear sheets pulled form some current editorial stories. We used those as a springboard for the look.
Technique:
After moisturizing and prepping the lips with lip balm, I used a Beauty Blender and a synthetic foundation brush to apply the foundation. I added a COVERGIRL Queen Collection Natural Hue Concealer in “Light” where needed and a bit of COVERGIRL + Olay Simply Ageless Sculpting Blush in “Lush Berry” on the apples of the cheeks with a dual fiber brush, then set both of those creamy products with a loose translucent powder (COVERGIRL Professional Loose Powder) and a bit of the COVERGIRL Queen Collection Natural Hue Pressed Powder in “Light Bronze”pressed powder.
Then I used the COVERGIRL Queen Collection Natural Hue Bronzer “Light Bronze” for a touch a little warmth on the cheeks, and a slightly deeper bronze, COVERGIRL Queen Collection Natural Hue Bronzer in “Brown Bronze” for contour, applied sparingly.
First I filled in her brows, brushed them into place and set them with clear mascara so they’d stay put throughout the night. I did a wash of the deep bronze on the lid and blended it up towards the brow and a bit the bronze under the eye. I lined the top eye with COVERGIRL Queen Collection Vivid Impact Eye Liner in Midnight and then blended out the color, softening the line.
Then I took COVERGIRL Queen Collection 1-Kit Eyeshadow in “Black Tie” and went over the liner to deepen the color and to add depth, and blended it up the eye. I concentrated on the outer corners to elongate the eye, and used lots of mascara for a dramatic lash. Three coats of COVERGIRL Queen Collection Lash Fanatic mascara in Black on top and two on the bottom gave the eyes a pretty doe eyed look. I used the champagne color from the COVERGIRL SmokyShadowBlast in Bronze Fire as a highlighter on the inside of the eye.
Finally, with a lip brush I swiped on COVERGIRL Queen Collection Lip Color in “Penelope Pink”, and then added a bit of gloss (COVERGIRL Queen Collection Lip Gloss in “Pearled Peach”) on top of it.
I always give my client blotting papers and her lip color to take with her for stealthy touch ups during the night. The nights can be long, and there are always cameras around!
