Favorite Thing Friday: HANAair Professional Hair Dryer

Since I have straight hair, people think that I never have to do anything to it. There is no statement that is further from the truth. After washing my hair I enlist the help of a hair dryer, though mine has long needed replacing. So you can imagine how excited I was when the folks over at Missikko.com offered me the HANAair Professional Hair Dryer for a review I was especially keen.

The ceramic hair dryer I have owned for ages had ran its course at least a year ago but since its so hard to find the perfect accessory that would leave my hair shiny and frizz free that I just couldn’t part with it. But after using the HANAair Pro, I don’t even think about my old dryer!

Yeah that sounds a little corny but I can’t help but sing the praises of a piece of a equipment that not only dries my hair in half the time but it leaves my hair looking like I just stepped out of the salon. Of course this takes time and patience since I have a head full of thick hair, but the results made it all worth it.

It features 2 fan speeds, 3 heat settings plus cold shot, advanced far infrared ionic heat, and pure Tourmaline Crystals that add antibacterial ions and shine.

The HANAair Professional Hair Dryer retails for $314.99 but if you jump on the Black Friday sale train, you can get this awesome piece of machinery for $194.99.

Misikko has the best hair dryer, the HANAair Professional Hair Dryer available for $194.99 during their Black Friday sale as well as a collection of flat irons.

Favorite Thing Friday: Covergirl Olay Simply Ageless Serum Primer

Please be warned, after reading this review you will want to run out and try this primer! I have such a simplistic attitude towards make-up on my face that I sincerely never thought I needed to wear anything extra below it. Sure you have your moisturizer that protects you but what on Earth is primer meant to do?

Well ladies, if you are tired of having to re-touch your make-up you need to invest in this product. I researched many brands but wasn’t convinced really by any [Read more...]

Favorite Things Friday: Ed Hardy Vintage Collage Blow Dryer

While I normally leave the Ed Hardy patterns for the younger generation, I’m happy to say that I have finally found a way to make it work for me.

I received their Vintage Collage Blow Dryer for review and I can’t tell you how fabulous it is! I took advantage of my upcoming trip to 2010 San Diego Comic Con to really see this tool at work. With friends coming over nightly to [Read more...]

Nothing’s more fun than a barrel of 100 Monkeys!

100 Monkeys - Monster De Lux

For my first album review here on Accidental Sexiness, there were tons of options. My tastes are pretty eclectic; you’ll find my Zune packed with artists from Frank Sinatra and O.D.B. to N*SYNC and Bach. Luckily, a friend suggested I try something totally new to me, and check out the band 100 Monkeys.

Who are these monkeys, you ask?
The Los Angeles based group is composed of members Ben Graupner, Ben Johnson, Jackson Rathbone (yes ladies, Twilight’s Jasper Cullen), Jerad Anderson, and Uncle Larry. Each member plays multiple instruments and they often switch up for different songs. These talented guys clearly know their music inside & out.

What you should be listening to:
Earlier this year, they released Monster De Lux, 10 tracks of pure bluesy/funky/rock eargasmic fun that leave you wanting more. And more, they say, will come. According to their website, they’ll be releasing a full album in early December. But lets not get ahead of ourselves!

The entire album is completely listenable, not one of those you find yourself skipping around, looking for the songs you like. There is something just simply fun about their vocal styles and quirky lyrics.

These monkeys will get you right from the start with the funky, slightly paranoid, Robot Timberwolves. They then jump to a different feel completely with Small Lean, a short but cute bit about, oddly enough, Jesse Camp. (And, having met him, I can agree, he really is a nice guy.) The album continues on this way, not letting you get bored by one sound. From instrumentals to synthesized vocals, there is something different to hear with each change of track.

My favorite tracks? Robot Timberwolves, Druken Waltz, and Electric Life. Check them out!

Come on, wrap it up…
Ok, ok. Their music may not be for everyone. It’s not mainstream pop type stuff, not even in the Kings of Leon sense. But for those who can appreciate something different, 100 Monkeys offers a sound that is both mellow and innovative. My only wish for this album? I wish they’d included a few other songs, like Orson Brawl. A quick trip to YouTube and you can find dozens of awesome 100 Monkeys performances.

Tip: Be sure to listen to the final track, Spaceship, in it’s entirety.
