Rhys Ifans and co-star Joely Richardson were on-hand for a special screening of their latest film, Anonymous at the The Museum of Modern Art on Thursday, October 20th, 2011 in New York City, New York. Both looked dashing alongside director Roland Emmerich as they presented the political thriller that advances the theory that it was in fact Edward De Vere, Earl of Oxford who penned Shakespeare’s plays; set against the backdrop of the succession of Queen Elizabeth I, and the Essex Rebellion against her.
As a huge fan of Mr. Ifans, I can’t mention enough how excited I am to have spent some time with him and his lovely girlfriend Anna Friel during the Syfy Media Tour recently. The duo were in Orlando supporting their upcoming tv movie, Neverland which tells the story of Peter Pan and Captain Hook before the characters were dazzled with Disney magic!
I was actually quite surprised at how much I fangirled over him! I don’t think I’ve ever behaved so starry eyed…well except that one time with Alexander Skarsgard and that other time with Henry Cavill but who is counting?!?
He totally won me over with his hilarious portrayal of Spike in Notting Hill all those year ago and has continued to do so throughout the years with films like Pirate Radio, Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 1, Little Nicky and Elizabeth: The Golden Age, to name a few.
Anna was so lovely as well, and her fashion sense is KILLER! I’m very excited to share my photos, video and details about Neverland in a future post so stay tuned.
I have no doubt that both Rhys and Joel will do brilliantly in Anonymous, so make sure you hit theaters on October 28th to see for yourselves!
