Jude Law has become a father again! The British actor’s ex fling Samantha Burke gave birth to a little girl whom she named Sophia yesterday. She weighed in 5-lbs and 12-oz.

“Samantha Burke is overwhelmed with joy at the arrival of her beautiful and healthy baby girl, Sophia,” Burke’s rep, Eileen Koch, tells PEOPLE. “The baby and mom are doing wonderful.”

Jude Law had a brief relationship with the model/actress while he was in New York filming Sherlock Holmes last year.

Though the couple is no longer together, Law has gone on record saying he will be “fully supportive” of the child. Though it may not be the ideal situation let’s hope for the sake of the child these two can work things out.

Jude is currently starring in Hamlet on Broadway to rave reviews!

I realize that celebrities are human just as we are and make mistakes, and boy did Jude Law make a big one!

Samantha Burke, who is currently carrying Law’s child is coming off as a major opportunist. I could be wrong but the girl claims to want all this privacy but I keep seeing her on television and she is posting pictures of herself where they can easily be found!

Samantha met her little cash cow a.k.a Jude Law outside a New York nightclub after moving there to pursue her modeling/acting career. Law was in the City filming Sherlock Holmes at this time.

Amidst all the drama circling Jude Law since the reveal of his upcoming bundle of joy, the actor came out to greet his fans last night at the Wyndham Theatre. With a scarf wrapped loosely around his neck, he signed autographs and posed for pictures after his nightly performance of Hamlet.

Even though mother-to-be Samantha claims to want privacy, her people are confirming to People Magazine that she is having a girl and her name will be Sophia.

“Samantha, her mom, and her family can affirm that Jude has been responsive and supportive throughout the relationship and pregnancy, and know that he will remain so as a father once Baby Sophia is born,” says the statement. “Jude and Samantha remain committed to the health and well-being of this child, and appreciate your honoring her privacy during this special time.”

The 24-year-old aspiring actress is reportedly due in October.

Earlier today we reported the possibility of Rachel McAdams sister possibly being Jude Law’s future baby momma. Reports have now hit the internet that model Samantha Burke is confirmed as the woman carrying Jude’s child.

“”Ms. Burke can confirm that she did in fact have a relationship with Mr. Law and that she has informed Mr. Law that she is expecting his child later this fall. Since informing Mr. Law of the pregnancy, he has been nothing but responsive and supportive of Ms. Burke and the pregnancy.” the model’s legal rep said in a statement to TMZ.

Burke is a model who is based in Pensacola, Florida and her interests include modeling and acting.
