Having the opportunity to talk to Ricky Gervais was a dream come true. As a self confessed Anglophile, Mr. Gervais was definitely on my list of people who would cause me to run outside and do a cartwheel if I ever exchanged words with him.
And while I did attempt the cartwheel (and nearly smooshed my dog Peetie in the process), I did get to chat up the creator of The Office and Extra’s about his upcoming Golden Globe hosting duties for the second year in a row.

British comedian Ricky Gervais is taking the United States by storm! His voice is set to star in a 13-episode animated comedy series early next year on cable giant HBO.
“The Ricky Gervais Show” will be based on his extremely popular and overly hilarious podcasts and will include his former co-stars Stephen Merchant and Karl Pilkington. Having heard a few of those myself, I know they usually revolve around Karl’s brainless answers and Ricky going on about how dumb he is! Sounds great!
The show will premiere on February 19th.
But you can catch Ricky before then! He will be hosting he Golden Globe Awards on January 17th, 2010.
What a treat it is to see two of my favorite funny guys, Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant working on a new project together! The Brits are currently on set of their new film, Cemetery Junction in Bershire, England. The talented duo co-wrote and are directing this 1970s-set comedy centered on three upstart professional men working at an insurance company.
How cute it that doggy!
