Adam Shankman denies Suri Cruise will cameo in ‘Rock of Ages’

The internet has been blowing up with speculations that Suri Cruise would be joining her dad Tom Cruise on the big screen version of Rock of Ages. Unfortunately it seems like all the buzz was a little premature.

The films director Adam Shankman took to social media site Twitter a few minutes ago to debunk stories that are claiming the youngest Cruise would be making her film debut in the musical adaptation.

This is the first i have heard of this. Its not true, though i adore Suri. Dont believe everything you read, Shankman said via his official Twitter account.

Rock of Ages has been shooting in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area for about a month and a half and has already seen Suri’s dad Tom on set along with Diego Boneta, Alec Baldwin, Russell Brand, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Paul Giamatti, Malin Akerman, and Julianne Hough.

Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise brave the rain in Miami

Just as quickly as they departed for Los Angeles, Katie Holmes and daughter Suri Cruise returned to South Florida where some pretty crappy weather awaited them. While most people await the warm summers, those of use in Miami know that this brings all types of bad weather.

The mother/daughter duo were prepared for the sprinkle, as evident from these pictures of their departure from SoHo House with their see thru umbrella’s on Thursday, June 30th 2011.

Joining Suri were a couple of young friends who played with Suri while Katie chatted up an unidentified male.

Katie, who is currently promoting her new movie Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, is spending down in Miami while her husband Tom Cruise shoots Rock of Ages.

Also in the set are images of Kati and a sleepy Suri arriving to their South Beach hotel this afternoon.

Tom Cruise jets from Miami

You can tell that a longtime actor like Tom Cruise knows EXACTLY how to evade being photographed when he doesn’t want to be seen. Tom managed to be in Miami, Florida for at least a week for rehearsals of his new movie Rock of Ages without being snapped once!

He even attended a read through in full costume and managed to avoid the flash bulbs!

Though today became a very different day as he was (slightly!) captured while departing from the Opa Locka Airport via his private jet with daughter Suri and wife Katie Holmes. (May 17th, 2011)

No one knows exactly where the couple is heading to since filming is set to begin quite soon, so we can only assume that they will be back.

Good thing little Suri tried to hide from photographers in that half a second shown in the pictures or we wouldn’t have seen Tom’s face!

While Tom Cruise is at work, Katie Holmes and Suri splash in the pool!

Tom Cruise has been keeping quite busy while in South Florida with rehearsals for his new movie, Rock of Ages. So it’s only normal that his wife Katie Holmes and daughter Suri enjoy some rest and relaxation! The thirty two year old brunette held on to her daughter as she taught her how to swim without the assistance of any floating devices in Miami Beach, Florida on Monday, May 16th, 2011.

Holmes protected herself from the beaming sunshine with a wide brimmed, white hat and a pair of sunglasses. (though neither helped her remain incognito from the paparazzi!) Always a fashionista, Suri looked mega stylish in a red bikini.

Rumors were running rampant recently that Katie is currently pregnant with a little baby brother or sister for Suri. These pictures though don’t show her with any kind of belly though they are all angled in a way that we wouldn’t really be able to tell.

Her rep shut down the rumors but only time will really tell.
