Taylor Swift glams it up on Glamour’s November cover!

Glam girl Taylor Swift has gone from a precocious teen country singer to a major pop star in a short six years. Her fashion choices are coveted by her legions of fans and her music on heavy rotation at popular radio stations all over the world. It’s no wonder she was chosen to grace Glamour Magazine’s November 2013 issue!

Photographed by Ellen von Unwerth in Nashville, Taylor rocked a Burberry London tank, Dior skirt and belt and a Tiffany & Co. diamond bracelet on the cover.  If you love seeing a splash of color on the 22-year-old as much as I do, you will love this series of images!

Here are a few excerpts from the interview which includes talk about her ex John Mayer and new boyfriend, Conor Kennedy!

On her songs about past relationships and not listening to the gossip…
GLAMOUR: And “Dear John,” also about a failed relationship, still seems to be resonating strongly. Does that surprise you?
Taylor Swift: I think that song really hit home with a lot of girls who had been through toxic relationships and had found their way to the other side of it. I’ve never looked out while singing a song during a concert to see so many girls crying.
GLAMOUR: You never identified who it was about, but John Mayer recently told Rolling Stone that it was him.
TS: How presumptuous! I never disclose who my songs are about.
GLAMOUR: He said he felt…
TS: No! I don’t want to know, I don’t want to know.
GLAMOUR: You don’t? [Mayer told Rolling Stone that he was "humiliated" by the song, and that Swift's releasing it was "a really lousy thing for her to do."]
TS: I know it wasn’t good, so I don’t want to know. I put a high priority on staying happy, and I know what I can’t handle.
GLAMOUR: It would hurt too much to hear?
TS: It’s not that I’m this egomaniac and I don’t want to hear anything negative, because I do keep myself in check. But I’ve never developed that thick a skin. So I just kind of live a life, and I let all the gossip live somewhere else. If you go too far down the rabbit hole of what people think about you, it can change everything about who you are.

On her new relationship and the Kennedys…
GLAMOUR: So there’s a lot of talk about you and the Kennedys these days. There are reports that you are dating Conor Kennedy.
TS: I don’t talk about my personal life in great detail. I write about it in my songs, and I feel like you can share enough about your life in your music to let people know what you’re going through.
GLAMOUR: Ethel Kennedy, Conor’s grandmother, was asked what she would think of having you as a “granddaughter-in-law,” and she said, “We should be so lucky.”
TS: She’s fantastic. I love her.

On the importance of having girlfriends and maturing with celeb-besties Emma Stone and Selena Gomez…
GLAMOUR: I know you have many close girlfriends. Are they helpful in keeping your worries in check?
TS: They are so important in my life right now. I’m the kind of girl who needs to tell her friends everything. I’ve developed this really close-knit group of girls. Two of my close friends are bandmates. My other close friends are Ashley, Claire, Diana, Emma, and Selena.
GLAMOUR: Emma is Emma Stone, and Selena is Selena Gomez. Is it nice to have friends who are also famous?
TS: I met Emma when I was 17, and I met Selena when I was 18. So they’ve experienced all of this with me, and they’ve also experienced their own amazing success, and somehow through all of it, we’ve stayed close.

On being misunderstood and not being dark, twisty or complicated…
GLAMOUR: As a very public figure, how do you think you are misunderstood?
TS: I think some people think it’s just apple pie and sunshine and sprinkles and ponies. Which is just funny. But I never feel the need to go out and make some grand statement that I’m dark and twisty and complicated, because I’m not that either. It’s just not as simple as ponies and rainbows, though I do love ponies and rainbows.

On if she is wary of people using her for her fame and money…
GLAMOUR: Are you wary of people using you for your fame and money?
TS: I think you can tell who’s a good person to be around, who makes you laugh, who’s fun, whom you can trust. And, yes, you’re going to get burned a few times, but I’d really rather get burned a few times than sit alone in that house with the curtains drawn. So God forbid this person you’re hanging out with gets a bit of validation out of the fact you’re famous. Is that the worst-case scenario? You know, it doesn’t seem that bad.

Lady in Red: Taylor Swift strikes a pose for new fragrance

Not only does Ms. Thang Taylor Swift have a hot new boyfriend (ahem a Kennedy no less) and a new oceanfront estate in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts to be excited about, but she is also gearing up for the release of her second fragrance come fall! Dressed to the nines in a crimson Monique Lhuillier gown, Taylor posed for an advertising campaign for Wonderstruck Enchanted at the Magnolia Plantation in New Orleans, Louisiana.

“I love the look of my Wonderstruck Enchanted ad,” Swift told People Magazine. “I’m wearing this amazing red gown that I loved as soon as I put it on. It’s a classic look, and that’s been my recent style obsession. Anything classic and timeless.”

The press release gives us a bit of insight as to what we can expect from Taylor’s second fragrance, which is a collaboration between Taylor, Elizabeth Arden and Givaudan.

An Oriental Gourmand, Wonderstruck Enchanted introduces a new dimension to the Wonderstruck portfolio, with an irresistible blend of luscious wild berries and sugar-glazed petals, wrapped in a touch of sensuality for a captivating signature. Wonderstruck Enchanted has an addictive balance of creamy flowers and sensual woods which blend harmoniously and add an alluring quality to the fragrance.

As a huge fan of Wonderstruck, I’m looking forward to Wonderstruck Enchanted helping me transition from my summer scents into the fall! You will be able to purchase it nationwide at prestige department stores in September.

Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood glow at the Country Music Awards

Two of my favorite fashionistas Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood looked dazzling at the 45th annual CMA Awards held at the Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, November 9th, 2011 in Nashville, Tennessee. The former American Idol cutie, who was picked to co-host the event alongside Brad Paisley, wore a gold sequined gown by Reem Acra and Jimmy Choo heels. Equally as stunning was Pennsylvania native Taylor Swift who wore a white J. Mendel gown and Christian Louboutin heels.

Both girls opted for very different looks though when it came down to their hairstyle.  Taylor’s golden strands were swept back to show her frosted earrings while Carrie had some romantic waves put in her hair.

Though I’m not sure yet if Ms. Underwood won, she is nominated for the Female Vocalist of the Year award.  I hope she wins!

Get This Look: Taylor Swift and Ellen DeGeneres at the Teen Choice Awards

Proving that being a CoverGirl is truly ageless, Taylor Swift and Ellen DeGeneres rocked the 2011 Teen Choice Awards held at Gibson Universal Amphitheatre on Sunday, August 7th, 2011 in Universal City, California. Both ladies have represented the CoverGirl brand not just in advertisements but also in real life as is evident by their flawless look last night.

We had the chance to speak with each of their make-up artists for details on what products were used so that you guys can duplicate the look at home.

Here is what Lorrie Turk used on Taylor’s face to create a flawless look to go with her Rafael Cennamo dress. cg3

Since this was Teen Choice, held in August in sunny Los Angeles, Taylor and I wanted to go with a summery, youthful look. To us, that meant color, especially since she had a cream palette for her dress.

To make Taylor’s eyes pop, we started by brushing on COVERGIRL Eye Enhancers1-Kit Shadows in Turquoise Tempest #435, which we topped with COVERGIRL Exact Eyelights Eye-Brightening Eyeliner in Radiant Sapphire #710. We finished her eyes with COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Mousse Mascara in Very Black #500.

For a young and radiant glow, we used COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Silk Foundation, accentuated with a peachy blush.

We balanced the bold color we used on Taylor’s eyes with a more muted look for her lips. We used COVERGIRL LipPerfection Lipcolor in Rapture #280.

Ellen DeGeneres has been a Brand Ambassador for CoverGirl since September 2008 kept her look more casual, showing up in jeans and long sleeve white shirt. She finished off her ensemble with a cute black vest and a loose fitting tie.

cg5 Her make-up artist Heather Currie explained how she worked with the talk show host to create this look:

I love getting people ready for the Teen Choice Awards because the attire tends to be more hip and trendy. Therefore, it’s fun to complement the clothes by doing a makeup look that is fresh and can even lean towards edgy.

Ellen likes her makeup to look flawless so I started by using the COVERGIRL Simply Ageless Serum Primer. I like to start with a primer to give the foundation lasting power, which is great for a long night out.

I followed the primer with COVERGIRL and Olay Simply Ageless Foundation. Since its summer and Ellen has a bit of a tan, I used foundation #245 Warm Beige. I like to start by getting the sponge wet and applying the foundation that way.

Next, I used a little of the COVERGIRL and Olay Simply Ageless Concealer in Light Medium #215 and mixed it with the COVERGIRL and Olay Simply Ageless Corrector in #230. I used my finger to mix the two together on the back of my hand, and then I applied it to the area under Ellen’s eyes, making sure to reach the inner corners of the eye area as well.

I then applied the COVERGIRL and Olay Simply Ageless Concealer in Light Medium #215, with a brush to the T-zone area. I used the concealer lightly to cover any redness or imperfections on the skin.

Because it is an event that lends it self to an edgier look, I made Ellen’s eyes the focal point. Her eyes already stand out, so it’s fun to enhance them even more. I began by applying the COVERGIRL Intense ShadowBlast in Brown Bling #815 to the lid area, making sure to use my finger to blend the shadow into the crease. I love this product because it’s a primer and a shadow so you can build on top of it with dry eye shadow for a lasting look.

To add more definition to the lash line I then added the COVERGIRL LiquilineBlast Eyeliner in Brown Blaze #420. I like to use my finger to smudge this line upwards away from the lash to give it a smoky effect. I do this step a couple of times for more intensity, always making sure to blend it well. And to complete the eyes, I applied two coats of COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Mousse Mascara in Brown #515.

Since the focus was more on the eyes, I used a lighter color of blush, COVERGIRL and Olay Simply Ageless Blush in Rich Cinnamon #210. I applied the blush with a synthetic brush, but it’s just as easy to use your finger, or the sponge that it comes with.

I wanted Ellen’s skin to have a beautiful glow, I lightly powdered her face with the COVERGIRL Clean Pressed Powder for Normal Skin in Natural Beige #140.

Along with the blush, I wanted to down play the lips so that the eyes would remain the focus. I used COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Gloss Balm in Pinot #245.I really like this gloss. Not only is it moisturizing, but it adds a hint of color to the lips without looking heavy.

Taylor Swift and Elizabeth Arden team up to create magical Wonderstruck

When the Speak Now World Tour made its way to the Bank Atlantic Center in Sunrise, Florida in June, Taylor Swift was not only sweet but her smell was intoxicating! Come to find out, she was wearing her debut fragrance called Wonderstruck.

Elizabeth Arden announced their partnership with the multiple award winning songstress on her first ever perfume, available nationwide at prestige department stores in October 2011.

“Wearing perfume is such a unique way to create memories. Like songs, a scent can take you back and allow you to relive a moment in time, Swift said.”

So what exactly does “Wonderstruck” mean?

The name Wonderstruck comes from the song “Enchanted” on Taylor’s current album, Speak Now. Wonderstruck is that awe-inspiring feeling that comes from experiencing something magical, especially the rush of an instant connection with someone. Taylor hopes to capture this feeling in her fragrance.

“I wrote the lyric, ‘I’m wonderstruck, blushing all the way home’ for the song ‘Enchanted’ about the first time you meet someone, Taylor said in a astatement. A fragrance can help shape someone’s first impression and memory of you. It’s exciting to think that Wonderstruck will play a role in creating some of those memories.”

The twenty-one-year old teamed up with perfumer Olivier Gillotin of Givaudan to create the gourmand floral; a charming and sparkling surprise of vibrant fruits, kissed by a bouquet of soft petals and a touch of sweet indulgence.

While smell is the #1 things you look for when picking out a scent, it sure helps when the bottle is as beautiful as Wonderstruck’s is!  As you can tell from the first photo above, it features a deep purple body with an iridescent rainbow finish.  The necklace hugging the neck of the bottle features antiqued gold charms, including the Moravian star, a dove and a birdcage, handpicked by Taylor herself!

Price for the collection are as follows:
Eau de Parfum Spray, 3.4 fl. oz/100ml $59.50
Eau de Parfum Spray, 1.7 fl. oz/50ml $49.50
Rollerball, .33 fl. oz/10ml $18.00
Scented Body Lotion, 6.8 fl. oz/200ml $29.00
Scented Bath Gel, 6.8 fl. oz/200ml $25.00

All prices are manufacturer’s suggested retail prices in US dollars.

Wonderstruck is definitely a scent that you will want to add to your collection to keep the sweetness of the spring/summer with you all year round.
