Long time best buddies Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire made their arrival to the set of The Great Gatsby in Sydney, Australia on Tuesday, August 23rd, 2011. The F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic story tells the tale of Midwesterner Nick Carraway (Maguire) who is lured into the lavish world of his neighbor, Jay Gatsby (DiCaprio). Soon enough, however, Carraway will see through the cracks of Gatsby’s nouveau riche existence, where obsession, madness, and tragedy await.
Baz Luhrmann’s adaptation will also have Carey Mulligan in the role of Daisy, Gatsby’s love interest, Joel Edgerton as Daisy’s husband Tom Buchanan, and Isla Fisher as Buchanan’s mistress Myrtle.
Does this mean we will see Blake Lively heading Down Under to visit her beau?? My guess is “Yes!”
The production will continue to shoot until Christmas.
