Mary-Louise Parker brings Nancy Botwin back to life!

Are you guys all amped up for the new season of Weeds?! Just to help you get more excited, we have these hot new pictures of Mary-Louise Parker as she rehearsed her lines while on the set of the Showtime hit dramedy in Los Angeles, California on Monday, June 20th, 2011.

**JUST ADDED: Images of guest star Aidan Quinn who joins the cast in the role of “a charismatic investment firm CEO.” We hear things could get dirty between these two!**

These new images couldn’t have come at a better time either. I had the chance to preview the season premiere this afternoon and have been wanting to share with you my thoughts.

Without giving too much away, the premiere picks up three years after Nancy (Parker) entered jail for the murder of Pilar Zuazo as shown during the season six finale. ***POSSIBLE SPOILERS SO PLEASE LEAVE NOW IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW A THING!***

You will find Nancy is leaving the big house but is not yet a free bird. She must complete her time at a halfway house in New York City. Both of her oldest children Silas (Hunter Parrish) and Shane (Alexander Gould) are living with their Uncle Andy (Justin Kirk) and former accountant Doug Wilson (Kevin Nealon) in Denmark.

Their lives have been relatively problem free and they are collectively quite happy without the problematic Nancy in their lives. Will her transfer to a less secure location bring the family back to America or will they carry on living the good life without her?

Plus one bit of HUGE news is revealed within the first half of the episode!

Can Nancy be rehabilitated after living the hard life behind bars or will she find new ways to survive in the concrete jungles of The Big Apple?

Tune in to the first episode of season seven entitled, “Bags”on Monday, June 27th, 2011 only on Showtime.

Martin Short and Aidan Quinn join the cast of “Weeds”

As we inch closer to the return of the Showtime hit, Weeds we are getting information about some of the fabulous actors set to have guest roles in the upcoming season. Two big names announced today were Martin Short, known for his work in the Father of the Bride franchise, his character Jiminy Glick, and one of my all time favorite films, The Three Amigos, and actor Aidan Quinn who you might know from Jonah Hex, Practical Magic or Benny & Joon.

Jennifer Jason Leigh is also set to return for the new season.

Here are the details from the press release which also includes casting information for other guest stars:

The legendary Martin Short (Damages) headlines the guest star roster as an eccentric attorney in at least 3 episodes, while Aidan Quinn (Prime Suspect) will play a charismatic investment firm CEO in at least 4 episodes. Jennifer Jason Leigh returns for 4 episodes as Nancy ’s estranged sister Jill Price-Grey who has been watching Little Stevie while Nancy was incarcerated.

Lindsay Sloane (Grosse Pointe) has signed on for 6 episodes as Maxeen, an eccentric conceptual artist who Andy (Justin Kirk) meets at a gallery event, and noted actor David Clennon (Ghost Whisperer) will play her husband, Charles. Pablo Schreiber (Lights Out) will star as Demetri Ravitch, an army supply sergeant and brother of Nancy’s former cellmate Zoya (guest star Olga Sosnovska), who begins to supply Nancy in her newest endeavor.

And Gary Anthony Williams (Mad, The Boondocks) will play Ed Watson, Nancy ’s halfway house counselor.

Season seven will kick off with Nancy Botwin (Mary-Louise Parker) just “as she has just completed a three-year stint in Federal prison for the murder of Pilar Zuazo (Kate Del Castillo). She’s now in New York , but no free bird – she must complete her probation in a strictly monitored halfway house, which means she’ll have to deal before curfew.

A now bolder Nancy has to re-start the business from scratch. Meanwhile, the boys – Andy (Kirk), Silas (Hunter Parrish) and Shane (Alexander Gould) – who were camped out in Copenhagen – are now Big Apple-bound with Doug (Kevin Nealon) in tow, of course and will be stirring up major trouble.”

Weeds will return for an all new season on Monday, June 27th at 10p ET/PT only on Showtime.

“Weeds” star Mary Louise Parker gets wrapped up in season seven

Weeds fans rejoice! Showtime has officially released the promotional artwork for the shows seventh and final season which features actress Mary Louise Parker wrapped up in lock and chains.  The title of the image is Houdini so you can quickly gather clues about what we might expect to see this summer.

For those of you who missed out on the season six finale, Nancy Botwin (Parker) was arrested at the airport for the murder of Pilar (Kate Del Castillo) whom was really killed by her son Shane (Alexander Gould) with a croquet mallet. There is no way this mother hen would ever let her kid take the fall, so for his sake, I hope he and his brother Silas (Hunter Parish) and Uncle Andy (Justin Kirk) really took off on that plane to Europe.

With Esteban (Demián Bichir) and minion Guillermo (Guillermo Diaz) extremely pissed off with her escape from their grip, there is no telling what extremes they will go to torture Nancy or her family if they get the chance.

Houdini was a master of escape, until that very last attempt which claimed his life. Will it do the same with Nancy?

Make sure to tune into Showtime for a seventh season on June 27th at 10:00 PM ET/PT.
