“Chuck” alum Yvonne Strahovski joins cast of “Dexter,” Showtime releases first image

It seems like too much to ask for in one day but not only do we get to see the first image of season seven of the Showtime hit Dexter (above), but now we are also learning some casting news! Chuck alum Yvonne Strahovski will appear in a multi-episode story arc in the role of “Hannah McKay, a strong, independent woman with a past that she’s struggled to put behind her. As a turn of events leads Miami Metro Homicide to ask for her help in solving some old cases, Dexter (Michael C Hall) works with her and begins to wonder if there’s more to this woman than she’s professed.”

Production on season seven began last week and will premiere on SHOWTIME on Sunday, September 30th at 9 p.m. ET/PT, just a day shy of my birthday! Geez guys, you shouldn’t have!

So let’s talk about the first photo showing that the series will pick up just where they left us during the big cliffhanger last season. Deb (Jennifer Carpenter) has just seen her brother ritualistically kill Travis, the s6 baddy right before her eyes. There is no way he can get out of this one, or is there?

I highly doubt the team of executive producers and writers would let ol’ Dex off the hook that easy. So its definitely going to be an adventure to see just how Deb will react and how much of his past will unravel before her eyes.

Homegirl bleeds blue but Dexter is her family. I’m gearing up for another exciting season!!

REVIEW: Chuck 4.17 “Chuck vs the First Bank of Evil”

Thanks to area storms, my Chuckage was intermittent this evening. Either the picture was messing up or the weatherman was feeling the need to interupt and tell me storms were in the area (because the lightening might not have been a sufficient indicator). Chuck episodes can be rather hit-or-miss lately. This one seemed like a hit, which makes it all the less cool that my viewing experience was not optimal. Due to the fates being against me, your review this week will be a quickie.

Vivian Volkov (Lauren Cohan) is really throwing me for a loop. I like her, but [Read more...]

REVIEW: Chuck – Episode 4.14 “Chuck vs the Seduction Impossible”

After last week’s epic wrap up of several story lines, this week’s Chuck was a great fresh-ish start! Chuck (Zachary Levi) and Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) are FINALLY engaged. Chuck’s mom (Linda Hamilton) is FINALLY free of Volkov and back in the his and Ellie’s lives. Ellie (Sarah Lancaster) FINALLY gave birth to little Clara. Ok, so maybe no one was stressing over that story line, but it’s still good to wrap it up. So, we begin this week with fresh new issues to worry about.

First and foremost, it’s time for [Read more...]

REVIEW: Chuck – Episode 4.13 “Chuck vs the Push Mix”

This week, I give you a picture of Morgan “The Magnet” Grimes (Joshua Gomez) as our featured image, because he just looks so good in ladies wear. Tonight’s episode of Chuck was a good one in that in wrapped up a lot of loose ends. An on going story is nice, because it keeps viewers coming back for more. But, there comes a point when you just get tired of things not being resolved. Chuck has been verging on taking too long, so this evening’s events were certainly welcome.

It was an episode full of [Read more...]

REVIEW: Chuck – Episode 4.12 “Chuck vs the Gobbler”

This weeks Chuck was a far cry from the romantics and French country side of last week. Dark Sarah, Volkov, rainy nights, prisons, Grunka…

I’m just goint to say it. Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) looks awful with black hair. But, the hair does seem to give her badassier abilities… I mean, the way she disarmed Volkov’s men like that? Impressive. Impressive enough for Volkov to trust her too. That and the fact that she didn’t kill him. Unfortunatly, Chuck’s mom (Linda Hamilton) doesn’t. Or does she? She wants Sarah to break “Yuri the Gobbler” out of prison. Don’t ask why the call him that. It’s because he eats people.

Sarah sneaks into [Read more...]

REVIEW: Chuck – Episode 4.11 “Chuck vs the Balcony”

At first I was thinking the episode was just meh, but then it got better, but the it got meh, but then it ended great! Definitely a roller coaster of an episode! And it’s left me way excited for next week too!

After its holiday hiatus Chuck wasted no time getting back into the action. A high-speed foot chase ends with a man inject some kind of chip into a bottle of wine before being shot by what I presumed to be this week’s baddies. Cut to our favorite nerd spy and sexy super spy: Chuck (Zachary Levi) and Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) are sitting down to [Read more...]

REVIEW: Chuck – Episode 4.10 “Chuck vs. the Leftovers”

Chuck vs the Leftovers

Yet another excellent opener this week. The Magnet, er, Mogan (Joshua Gomez), hoping to get himself and Intersectless-Chuck (Zachary Levi) some combat skills, has enrolled the two in a kickboxing class. A pole-dancing kickboxing class. Oh yeah. And, I was HIGHLY impressed with Chuck and Morgan’s ability to coordinate their moves while sharing a pole. I was hoping to see some more of these moves later on in the show…

This weeks Chuck brought back two amazing characters, the good/evil mother of Chuck, Mary/Frost (Linda Hamilton) and her worst-of-the-worst international arms dealer – boyfriend? – Alexei Volkoff (Timothy Dalton).  Having found out that Chuck was still alive, Volkoff instructed [Read more...]
